Weddings, baptisms & funerals

Marking life’s biggest moments

From christenings to weddings to saying goodbye to someone you love, we’re here to help you mark it in one of our churches.

Baptisms

Christening your child

If you’d like to book a baptism or christening in the Billingborough Group of parishes, please contact our Benefice Administrator, Maria. Requested dates can’t be guaranteed at first, but we’ll email to confirm once it’s set. Residents of Aslackby, Billingborough, Dowsby, Horbling, Pointon and Sempringham can be baptised in any of our churches; if you live outside these parishes, we can still usually arrange this with the vicar’s agreement.

Most baptisms take place on a Sunday afternoon, though there’s also the option to include it within our main Sunday service at 11am. Please note that Sempringham church is closed between Harvest and Easter due to the cold and damp.

Weddings

Getting married in church

Choosing to marry in church means choosing a Christian setting, before God and the people who matter to you. Our churches are beautiful, but it’s the ceremony itself that matters most — and we’d love to help you plan it. Email us and we’ll send over a contact and booking form, an information booklet, and details of costs. You’ll also get to meet with a priest to talk everything through properly.

Funerals

Funerals & burial of ashes

If you need to arrange a funeral or a burial of ashes in one of the Billingborough Group churches, please contact either your Funeral Director or the Vicar via our Contact page.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38–39
